Focus and Scope

Learning Styles Journal, initially known as Revista de Estilos de Aprendizaje, (ISSN: 1998-8996), is a publication of a scientific nature of the field of education.

It wass created in electronic format in the year 2008 thanks to the professional interest, human and scientific of the doctors Domingo Gallego and Catalina Alonso. Interest that leads them to push forward the construction of a theoretical foundation and a serious application of the methodology of learning styles to an international level.

In 2012, the magazine initially hosted at the National University of Distance Education, UNED Spain, extends its secondment by signing an agreement and inter-university transoceanic with various European and Latin American Universities of recognized standing in the implementation of the learning styles.

With the aim of improving its dissemination in the world panorama of education, in 2013, the Utah Valley University, in Orem, in the State of Utah welcomes the Magazine and provides its services in the areas of management and technical. La Revista de Estilos de Aprendizaje is renamed Journal of Learning Styles. However, the human team that integrates the different committees and bodies of the magazine continues to integrate professionals from various Latin American and European countries associated with the magazine since its emergence in editorial scope.

One of the great peculiarities of the magazine is its specificity within the universe pedagogical, centered on a topical theme and importance, at the same time that complex: the Learning Styles.

This publication has as main objective consolidate a space for the communication, discussion and dissemination of experience and research and thus, contribute, with a more scientific rigor to the improvement of the quality of the business and educational organizations.

Other claims related to the publication are summarized in: to serve as a scenario to stimulate reflection in the field of education, fostering discussion on educational practices under the new paradigms and contribute to the training and refresher courses to teachers.

The objectives are concentrated, in addition to publication in the Journal of Learning Styles, in the dissemination of initiatives related to the Learning Styles: World Congresses and Ibero-american, courses, meetings, exchanges, publication of books and scientific reports and doctoral theses.

This magazine of educational character comes with a six-monthly basis and is directed to a wide and varied audience covering the whole of the education sector in its different stages and forms and paying, equally, a service to the business sector.

The Journal of Learning Styles meets the criteria for being classified as a journal indexed and peer reviewed.

Call for papers Congreso 2018 Cultura, Sociedad y Educación

Journal of Learning Styles dedicará un número de larevista a las mejores ponencias y trabajos con referencia a los Estilos de Aprendizaje yEstilos de Enseñanza, presentados en el Simposio internacional sobre Cultura,Sociedad y Educación, International Conference CSE: Transforming society andculture through education organizado por la Universidad Camilo José Cela, y que secelebrará los días 22 y 23 de junio de 2018 en Madrid.

La temática del Congreso secentra en el impacto que ejercen las transformaciones sociales, culturales y educativasque se están produciendo en pleno siglo XXI.

Una de las áreas del Congreso estudiarálos “Estilos y Estrategias de Aprendizaje y los Estilos de Enseñanza para el siglo XXI”. Por ello, el Comité Organizador del Congreso invita a todos aquellos interesados aenviar propuestas de comunicación (de 12 minutos) en alguna de las siguientesmodalidades:

a) Presencial: La comunicación se presentará en alguno de los paneles decomunicaciones del Congreso, ante el público asistente.

b) En línea: La comunicación se grabará en vídeo y se subirá a la web del Congreso,donde los participantes podrán verla y plantear cuestiones y comentarios por escrito, alos que el comunicante deberá responder durante el tiempo del Congreso. Léanse las“Instrucciones para la participación con comunicación en línea”.

La fecha límite para la recepción de resúmenes de las comunicaciones es el día 15 deabril de 2018, y se enviarán a la dirección electrónica cseconference@ucjc.edu.

Las comunicaciones pueden presentarse en español o en inglés. La organización delCongreso valorará la aceptación de los resúmenes enviados en el programa final. La comunicación versará sobre alguna de las áreas temáticas siguientes: “Estilos y Estrategias de Aprendizaje y los Estilos de Enseñanza para el siglo XXI”.

Peer Review Process


All manuscripts received are subject to the following

Technical Coordination notifies the authorship of the article the receipt of the document, but that does not entail the acceptance of the same.

  1. The Scientific Committee makes a first revision of the manuscript to check whether it meets the basic requirements for publication in the magazine. If you do you will pass the article to the external.
  2. For an arbitration under the modality of "double blind", two or more external reviewers will evaluate the document while respecting the confidentiality and anonymity. To ensure the objectivity of judgment by the evaluators, there is a process of separation of the ids for the authors together With the allocation of identification codes. To ensure the independence and transparency of the process, it is requested that both the authors of the jobs that are candidates to be published as the judges, erase the trace of authorship and revisions to the document so that the external evaluators of any information about the article, except the set of descriptors on your content. The evaluators for the study of the jobs will use an evaluation protocol established for that purpose.
  3. The Scientific Committee checks whether the evaluations of the two external evaluators match. If not, you will be asked for your opinion of a third expert. According to the resolution of the evaluation, the Scientific Committee communicates to the authorship if the document is: (A) accept, (B) accepted with corrections C) accepted with major corrections or D) rejected.
  4. The Final acceptance is conditional on incorporation of the modifications and suggestions for improving the proposals and the forwarding within a maximum period of 15 days.
  5. This process takes approximately three months to complete. 


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
